Website Stock versus Market Stock

There is a vast difference between what I sell online and what items I take around with me when I am attending the regular country markets. Many of my market items are just too bulky to send out, the postage price would be ridiculously expensive (the cushions from my new paint splatter range above being just one of these. Although they are very light, they are large and bulky hence a much bigger price). My beautiful resin art 2 tiered grazing/cake trays and long charcuterie boards are also large and bulky, so these don’t make it to the website either, along with my framed prints. I do three sizes in these, the 5x7 minis, A4 & A3. Being glass fronted I really don’t want to take that risk. It would be heartbreaking at the other end after waiting for your stunning print to arrive, only to open it and find a smashed up mess. Not a good outcome for anyone!

I have been thinking about this a lot lately as I am wandering out to more and more markets on a weekend. This is a really fun and fabulous way to meet people and offer my works. I am enjoying it enormously, but I did think to myself, that when people look up my website they aren’t going to find the items they have just seen at the market and they will probably wonder, what is going on here?? Perhaps I need to explain why this is and provide some images of the artistic works that accompany me on weekends. This works both ways of course, those who look at the website won’t have any idea of what else is available. But now they will.

Above is a selection of items you will find with me at the markets, but not on the website.

My first week at the Victor Harbour Artisan Market. This was a fabulous day, a really wonderful market to come along and see. I had such a great day talking to everyone.
