My new line of smaller tree paintings are fully framed, making them a fabulous gift for yourself or loved ones. I love creating my trees, they are such an important part of our landscape and have become an important part of me and how I express myself. Most people recognise that trees play an essential role in the environment, but they perhaps undervalue the true extent of these incredible organisms’ benefits. Trees provide oxygen and limit carbon in the atmosphere. They reduce air pollution, provide food and shelter for wildlife, minimise erosion and maintain healthy soil, increase rainfall, and absorb sunlight as energy. Simply, trees are an essential component of life on Earth.

The name always presents itself whilst I am in the process of creating the tree/artwork. The colours in this series of smaller framed trees spoke to me of gems, that rich deepness and clarity that you see within the stones. The gold leaves and the crescent (which is the aura of the tree) are painted with metallic paint which shimmers when caught in the light.

Three layers of varnish over the painting for protection of the artwork. Frame has also had two coats of benchtop clear to protect it from marking.
